They can easily keep lots of the new stuff disabled until they can implement them properly. Plus, Skyblock is a custom Minecraft island experience. So you are against updates overall, no point in arguing. Yes, the pve combat will still feel a bit different, but it really won't be an issue at all and people will get used to it after 5 minutes at most. And the cooldown isn't an issue either since that's just a stat in Minecraft items that can easily be set to 0 so there is no cooldown anymore. Pvp should not be an issue since there is none in Skyblock and there likely will never be anyways, since apparently even the Colosseum was closed because of the EULA. What about cooldown? And pvp? That's what we all hate about 1.9+ versions But the other gamemodes are staying in 1.8.9, so I can't go play themĬlose Minecraft. Plus, let's be honest, we can live a couple weeks without some quality of life mods.

#1.17 SKYBLOCK SERVER UPDATE#
So they should not take as long to update as mods that actually add items/mobs into the game. And, after all, most mods are just client side mods, with "layouts" changing GUI's and such. However, keep in mind Alpha exists now, which should give modders some time to prepare and test them in advance. As long as Optifine exists for said version (currently released for 1.16.5 and with preview versions of 1.17), they will be fine. But what about my mods and texture packs?įirst of all, texture packs are very easy to update, they are just textures after all. Fortunately for Skyblock, the gamemode works with small servers with 10-30 players. I'm not an expert on this issue, but apparently, since a few versions (1.13 onwards I believe) there is some optimization problem that makes it so servers with lots of players in it (50+ players on at the same time) lag a lot.

So I decided it's time to analyze the most common arguments against it, to finally show for once why Skyblock can't stay in 1.8.9 forever. I still see people against the idea of Skyblock updating to 1.17 (or whatever Minecraft version is the newest when the devs update it) which is shocking to me considering the huge amount of content and improvements it would have.
